Cardi B Calls Out Trump For His Lack Of Response To Police Brutality: ‘He Don’t Care’
While some people have been fixated on using Cardi B’s past as a stripper to detract from her political opinions, the Bronx native isn’t letting that stop her from speaking her mind. Hours after Trump used racially-charged verbiage to attack the city of Baltimore and its mayor, Cardi B spun the president’s verbal attack into a teaching moment The rapper highlighted the larger impact that Trump’s harmful rhetoric has on communities of color.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the Invasion of Privacy pointed out President Donald’s nonexistent track record of publicly condemning police brutality.
“Every single time I see a Black man get killed or mistreated by the police, I just keep saying ‘What the f**k? Do nobody gives a f*ck? Nobody cares? And it’s just like... I stopped saying that because nobody don’t care! He don’t care,” she began, referencing Trump.
Cardi then used the analogy of kid getting caught misbehaving to illustrate how Trump’s inactions emboldens cops to keep committing heinous acts against Black people as they know they won’t face repercussions.
“You know when a kid is bad, right, and they keep getting away with something so they keep on doing it. Cops are going to keep doing it, ‘Oh, I could get away with killing a Black man? I could get away with beating the s**t out of them? We’re going to keep doing it. The last guy got away with it, so why not me?’” she explained. “At least when Obama was president, Obama used to always give us statements letting us know that he feels like it's wrong. This [man]...I know he sees it and he don’t give not one s**t.”
She continued on: “I feel like police brutality is going to keep on going [while] he’s president. When you keep asking yourself that question, just know that [as long as] he is president nothing is going to be done for police brutality.”
Cardi B also encouraged people to get more
educated about the political candidates on the 2020 electoral ballot, a sentiment she has repeatedly expressed. She finished with a sombering note that if people don’t get it together for the upcoming election, things might get worse.
“S**t like that is going to keep on happening,” she concluded. “So, please get educated about these candidates so we can get this dick the f**k out because he don’t give a s**t and s**t could get worse.”
