Kobe Bryant Beats Warriors, Leaves Parting Gift

Classy gesture by the five-time champ.

Who seen this coming?

On paper, Sunday's Golden State Warriors game against the Los Angeles Lakers looked to be another easy victory for Dub City.

But the Splash Brothers (Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson) shooting a combined 13-of-40 from the field and the Warriors just 13.3 percent from beyond the arc was more than enough to pave the way for one of the bigger upsets in the NBA this season — not to mention, sports, period — with the Lakers winning 112-95, handing Golden State its sixth loss of the year.

Sunday wasn't all a loss for the Splash Brothers and the Warriors, though.

Upon walking off the court, Kobe Bryant implored Curry to "keep pushing," according to Yahoo Sports, and to not give up on the Warriors' pursuit to break the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls' all-time, single-season best mark of 72-10.

Bryant delivered Thompson a different parting gift, altogether, in the form of an autographed jersey.

So, basically Kobe beat them, doled out advice and came bearing gifts. All in a day's work for the Black Mamba during his 20th and final season, right?

"I played my entire career with blinders on, just focused on running the race," Bryant told Yahoo. "I didn't have time to focus on the sides. Now I've had an opportunity to come up for air and soak it all in, it's been great."
