Toni's group with her sisters, the Braxtons, worked hard and got signed to Arista Records. In 1990 they released their first single, “The Good Life." The single caught the attention of music moguls L.A. Reid and Babyface. To them, Toni stood out and they pursued her for her music. The duo signed Toni as the first female artist to their Arista-distributed imprint, LaFace Records, in 1991. From there, Toni started releasing solo music and perfecting her craft. In 1993, Toni released her long-awaited self-titled debut album, Toni Braxton. The album was well received by the masses and immediately climbed the charts, peaking at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

  5. Coolest Connection

Though Toni has had many remarkable connections, we'd have to say the coolest is the one with her sisters. Though she had to leave their group to pursue her solo career, Toni made sure to include them in various songs. You can see them singing in the background of her record "Seven Whole Days." Her close bond with her sisters is truly one of the coolest connections yet.
