Queen Latifah Inducted Into New Jersey Hall of Fame
Queen Latifah was inducted into New Jersey's Hall of Fame on Sunday (June 5).
The hall honors New Jersey natives who have moved the cultural needle in the fields of history, entertainment, enterprise and sports, according to ABC News. The organization also has a general category for educators, politicians and military leaders.
Bruce Springsteen, Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison and Yogi Berra comprise some of the previous inductees, along with Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, Les Paul, Count Basie and Carl Lewis who were inducted in May.
To qualify for the hall, nominees must have lived in New Jersey for at least five years and must have "made a signature contribution to New Jersey and beyond," according to organizers.
Tony Bennett, John Travolta, Martha Stewart and former New Jersey Gov. Brendan Byrne were also honored on Sunday, but were unable to attend.
