3 Songs From Wizkid’s 'Made in Lagos' That Makes It a Top Contender For 'Album of the Year'
In 2020, international star Wizkid released his fourth studio album Made in Lagos and the sounds from his homeland could not be any more prevalent in this 14 track project. The album featured an assortment of notable features including 2021 Soul Train Award nominee H.E.R., Tems, and Grammy-award-winning singer Burna Boy.
Wizkid’s musical ode to his home country earned himself a Soul Train Awards nomination for “Album of the Year,” and in honor of the accomplishment, we’ve selected three songs from the afro-infused project that makes it a top contender for the category which also includes, Jazmine Sullivan and Giveon. “Smile” ft. H.E.R.
This feel good record will have you forgetting about your worries with its upbeat island-influenced sound. It’s also the first single off the fourth studio album from the Nigerian artist.
“Essence” ft. Tems
Wizkid and fellow Nigerian artist Tems delivered a summer anthem that will probably be playing well into 2022.
Ginger ft. Burner Boy
This collaborative effort between Wizkid and Burner Boy is genius. Their two unique voices coming together on the chorus match made in musical heaven.
