L&HH 's First Transgender Cast Member Shuts Down Hate From Waka Flocka
Don't come for D. Smith unless she sends for you.
In case you missed it, Grammy-winning producer and transgender woman D. Smith made her debut on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta this week. However, she has already dealt with ignorance from her castmates. Waka Flocka said transgender people like Caitlyn Jenner are "rebuking God" and are "marketing young girls and transgenders. They’re marketing evil.”
Just last month, Lil' Scrappy ranted on Instagram in a profane clip, saying, "If you ain't got no motherf**kin' baby pictures on your motherf**kin' social media, you a motherf**kinn' n***a. You a man with a penis with a wig on. I gotta check these motherf**kers' baby pictures nowadays."
On this week's show, D. said Waka's comments were irresponsible, but she also said more to the New York Post, "Their opinions do not hurt my feelings. My problem is that there are little elementary school girls who have friends or peers that may hear [the criticism] and go over the edge, commit suicide or get beat up that day." She also added, “If you do not have anything positive to say, it would help not to say anything. We’re fighting a real fight, both spiritual and physically. I want [Lil Scrappy and Waka Flocka Flame] to be a little more conscious with their words because they do have a platform."
Well said, D.!
