The Disturbing Story of a Teen Who Says She Was Sexually Harassed by Her Manager And Co-Workers Through a Slut-Shaming Party

Emily Houser was called "petty" and a "hoe" by staffers who took her boss's side.

A former employee of Chili’s claimed to have not only been the victim of sexual harassment, but also slut shaming. At age 16, Emily Houser started working at Chili’s in Whitehall, Pennsylvania. Her boss Josh Davidson allegedly made unsolicited attempts to date her. After two years of alleged sexual assault, Houser put in her two weeks’ notice only to be shamed by coworkers, reported BuzzFeed News.

Houser, now 18, said Davidson would make unannounced visits to her house, give her unwanted gifts and was allegedly verbally and physically abusive at work.

For Houser, the straw that broke the camel’s back occurred when Davidson showed up to her school on her 18th birthday and asked to be her boyfriend. Houser declined and knew it was time for her to take action.

Once Houser put in her two weeks' notice, she contacted Chili’s corporate headquarters in order to report the alleged assault. However, instead of firing Davidson, they transferred him to a Montgomeryville location.

When Houser’s former coworkers found out she made a report, they threw a "F**k Emily Houser" party.

  • Emily posted screenshots of a photo posted by a co-worker calling her a 'hoe'

  • Others commented that they were '#teamjosh'

  • Houser reached out again to Chili's corporate to ask that they take action against the bullying

A Chili's spokesperson has since told BuzzFeed News "the Team Members involved are no longer with the company."

The company, as well as a hostess from his new location, confirmed Davidson had been fired.

“Chili’s encourages a warm and welcoming workplace to provide our guests with the service they expect," the Chili's corporate spokesperson said. "We do not condone and are disappointed by the actions that took place. When this issue surfaced, our franchise partner conducted a thorough investigation."
