Here's How Long Kodak Black Will Remain In Jail After Being Ruled A 'Danger To The Community'
Kodak Black will be spending his summer in jail after a U.S. District Court judge ruled in favor of prosecutors’ motion to revoke his bond following a May 11 arrest, according to the Associated Press. The site additionally reports that the "ZEZE" artist will remain behind bars until his trial begins in September.
U.S. District Court Judge Federico Moreno cited the the Atlantic Records artist’s lengthy criminal record as the impetus behind his ruling.
When Kodak was first arrested, his bond had previously been granted at $550,000 with house arrest, but federal officials pushed for the court to deny him bail after deeming him a “danger to the community.”
Following that, Kodak asked the judge presiding over his case to allow him bail with the provision that he would put himself under the strict supervision of his legal team. The 21-year-old is currently being investigated for allegedly lying on government forms to purchase firearms from a Miami gun shop.
One of the firearms he bought linked him to the scene of a recent shooting that occurred in Pompano Beach, which is also currently being investigated.
The Associated Press concludes that the “Tunnel Vision” rapper could face up to eight years in prison if convicted.
