You Probably Won't Guess What Michelle Obama's Favorite Song From Beyoncé's 'Lemonade' Is...
When First Lady Michelle Obama takes the stage, takes the mic or takes anything for that matter, your best bet is to sit down and listen up.
That also goes for when she takes her pick from Beyoncé’s Grammy-nominated opus Lemonade, which she did on Wednesday (September 27) at Inbound 2017.
Famed journalist Roxane Gay sat down with Michelle at the star-studded business conference to talk politics, life after the White House, the Obama legacy and, apparently, the Lemonade track she likes to keep on repeat.
According to Harper’s Bazaar, the two women arrived at the topic when Gay asked her about which of the 12 songs was her favorite. Michelle responded that she actually enjoys all of them, but the one that she could listen to “over and over” again is “Love Drought.” The ethereal open testament to forgiveness suits the class and grace of Obama, so no surprise there.
Elsewhere in the conversation, however, she did drop a few surprise answers, such as whether she misses her time at the White House.
“No,” she reportedly said. “Nope, can’t say I do.”
She does, however, miss the people and the work. One of her most affecting statements, which the 53 percent of America’s White women who voted for Donald Trump should take heed of, came when discussing Hillary Clinton’s election loss.
“Any woman who voted against Hillary Clinton voted against their own voice,” she declared.
Add that to the list of Michelle’s most powerful (and original) statements.
