Prince's Iconic Memorabilia Being Auctioned Online
If you want a souvenir of Prince, you're in luck. Some of his most iconic items are for sale.
According to USA Today, an online auction spanning 200 lots is being hosted by RR Auction of Boston this week that will take a look back at the late singer's career and undeniable style. If you're interested, keep your credit card handy. Bidding ends Thursday.
"What this auction really does is it shows the influence and legacy of Prince with his fashion choices and how it relates today, when you see all these artists on tour, you know, different costumes, different outfits, reinventing themselves for each tour," said Bobby Livingston of RR Auction.
The collection includes the white ruffled blouse he wore at the American Music Awards in 1985 while performing his hit single "Purple Rain," valued at $15,000. The white cashmere coat and an outfit he wore in the 1986 film "Under the Cherry Moon" are estimated to sell for $25,000 and $45,000, respectively.
Adding more pieces to your Prince collection may include a pair of blue high-heeled boots from the Act I Tour that will set you back $20,000. Or maybe you'd like to get your hands on a $4,000 blue Schecter 'Cloud' Guitar the artist played. A custom-made gold stage outfit is also accentuated with love symbols valued at $10,000.
Along with those items, the collection will include jewelry and a set of four handkerchiefs he wore while performing, original candids from a Polaroid camera, master tapes of his most acclaimed albums, and official documentation of his films and music videos.
Prince died on April 21, 2016; thankfully, his legacy lives on.
The singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, and actor's estate recently released a Diamonds and Pearls box set.
