Pete Davidson Reportedly In Trauma Therapy Amid Kanye West Online Harassment
Kim Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson has reportedly sought out help for the continuous online harassment he has received from rapper Kanye West.
According to PEOPLE, the 28-year-old “has been in trauma therapy in large part” because of posts that the “Eazy” artist has shared on social media while dating Kardashian, also West’s ex-wife.
"The attention and negativity coming from Kanye and his antics is a trigger for [Pete], and he's had to seek out help," the source close to the Saturday Night Live alum says.
News of Davidson and Kardashian’s split broke at the beginning of Aug. 2022, the insider notes that he “has no regrets for dating Kim and wants it to be made very clear that she's been nothing but supportive of him throughout their relationship.”
The former pair dated for nine months after first romantically starting their relationship in Oct. 2021.
“Part of the reason they split was because of their busy schedules,” an insider previously told PEOPLE of the couple. “They both travel all the time and it was hard.”
After Kardashian and Davidson’s breakup made industry headlines, West responded on Instagram Monday (Aug. 8) with a now-deleted post featuring a photo of an altered New York Times newspaper with a headline that read, “Skete Davidson Dead at Age 28.”
PEOPLE notes that both Davidson and Kardashian’s teams each contacted Instagram about the eerie post.
“His team and Kim's have reached out repeatedly to Instagram asking to make the platform a safer space,” the insider shares, adding that “Kim does not tolerate this type of behavior from Kanye.”
“She's upset about the breakup. But the schedule made it so hard, and the fact that they were living in two different cities.”
This isn’t the first time West has attacked the former couple online and in the news, including a video for his single “Eazy” in which the rapper kidnapped, tied up, and buried a claymation version of Davidson, among other instances.
