Anthony 'Top Dawg' Tiffith Responds to Suge Knight
Suge Knight's latest comments about Kendrick Lamar's contract with Interscope Records has caught the attention of TDE label head Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith.
Knight told BET.com recently that Interscope takes a 50 percent cut from Lamar's touring revenue, but according to Tiffith, the Death Row Records founder is misinformed.
"TELL SUGE I SAID IF HE KAN SHOW ME 1 CHECK WE PAID 2 INTERSCOPE OFF OF R TOUING..ILL SELL HIM TDE 4 $1, NOBODY GETS S--T OFF OUR TOURS," Tiffith tweeted Wednesday (April 17)."
The TDE rap star came up during Knight's interview on the Arsenio Hall Show in February. Knight said that K.Dot and Game have "two of the worst deals" at Interscope, and later clarified his statements with BET.com. "[All I was saying was] it's not fair for two n----s from Compton to be gettin' f----d, and it's not good for me to have knowledge and not pass it on to them," he explained.
"It wasn't about putting them as men down or as artists down, it was about putting the person who's in control down, saying 'How are you f-----g over these dudes from Compton when they're making a difference for your company?'"
Hitting the road has made Lamar millions. "Compton's Cash King," as he has been called by Forbes, brought in $9 million between 2012 and 2013, $4 million of which came from touring.
