A talent like J Dilla doesn't come along very often, so it's been good to see his legacy so dilligently maintained in the five years since his untimely passing. On the heels of countless tribute LPs and functions comes a new documentary on the life and work of the late hip-hop producer called J Dilla: Still Shining.
From director Brian "B. Kyle" Atkins, the Internet feature will be available on TheJDillaProject.com on Feb. 7, and will feature never-before-seen footage of Dilla at work, with friends and family and just goofing off.
The doc will feature cameos and testimony from the beat guru's long list of collaborators, including Q-Tip, Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu, ?uestlove, Pete Rock, Common and more. In fact, from the looks of the trailer, it appears as though the doc captures the making of a famous photo of the so-called Soulquarians collective.
