Court Date Set for Justin Timberlake Following Overnight DUI Arrest in the Hamptons

The “Sexy Back” singer’s eyes were reportedly “bloodshot and glassy.”

Grammy Award-winning singer and actor Justin Timberlake was released from police custody after being arrested Monday evening on Long Island, New York, for driving while intoxicated or impaired.

Reports indicate that the 43-year-old entertainer appeared at a Sag Harbor courthouse wearing a black bowling shirt, light jeans, and white and baby blue Air Force 1s. He was handcuffed with his hands in front of him, and the cuffs were removed after his arraignment.

During the stop, the star refused a breathalyzer test, which is an automatic license suspension, as per the DMV in the state of New York.

The former child star was “in an intoxicated condition,” “his eyes were bloodshot and glassy,” and “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath,” according to arresting officers who spoke to CBS News. Authorities also noted that Timberlake “performed poorly on all standard field sobriety tests” and allegedly said, “I had one martini, and I followed my friends home.”

The “Bye Bye Bye” singer faces one DWI charge and citations for running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane. He was released from custody on his own recognizance on Tuesday. His next court date is July 26.

Timberlake has not yet commented on the incident, but jokes and reactions have already surfaced on X, formerly known as Twitter. Users have been sharing clips of reckless driving, failed sobriety tests, and a PT Cruiser crashing into a liquor store.

One user shared a viral clip of Kandi Burruss saying, “This is crazy,” with a caption by the user that read, “I was already fighting for my life defending Justin Timberlake and now this??”
