Trey Songz Named in $20 Million Sexual Assault Lawsuit
Trey Songz is facing serious legal issues after a woman claimed she was sexually assaulted by the R&B crooner inside E11Even nightclub on New Year’s Day in Miami in 2018. Now she is suing for $20 million after alleging “civil battery, as well as negligence and emotional distress."
According to a report by Hot New Hip Hop, the incident initially started at Diddy’s house where a party had been ongoing. A woman, later identified as Jahuara Jeffries, claims Trey, born Tremaine Aldon Neverson, invited her and her friend to spend the night with him in a private area inside that club. The woman said the group partied there for about two hours before heading out. She claimed the “Slow Motion” singer was highly intoxicated and drank well into the night.
In legal documents obtained by the outlet, the woman claimed that the singer assaulted her at some point that night. “While Plaintiff was dancing on the couch, she noticed Defendant Songz standing on the floor next to her. She then felt fingers being inserted into her vagina, turned around, and saw Defendant Songz pulling his hand away from her bottom,” the $20 million civil suit filed earlier this week alleged.
Still, she and her friends continued to party with the 37-year-old until things escalated later in the evening. In her suit, Jeffries claimed that while in Trey’s car, the singer took off his shirt as she began recording “fearing more assault” would come.
The “Say Aah” singer reportedly grew angry about being filmed and allegedly became violent to the point his driver — who is also named in the suit — got involved. She also claims the singer tried to take her phone. Ultimately Jeffries stated the driver "violently pulled her out of the vehicle" as Trey "pushed her, and threw her onto the street" before she was berated and had water thrown in her face.
Diddy was also named in the suit as well as the nightclub. Neither Diddy nor Trey have spoken out about the allegations.
