Tiffany Haddish Addresses DUI Arrest
Tiffany Haddish has addressed her DUI arrest during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The 42-year-old actress joined the late night show virtually and discussed the night of her arrest that happened on the morning of Jan.14 in Peachtree City, Georgia, according to PEOPLE.
“I got a really great lawyer, and we're going to work it out,” she said. “I've got to get my asking of things to God a little better!”
BET previously reported that the Girls Trip actress was arrested by the Peachtree City police department for a suspected DUI and improper stopping on a roadway. Officers confirmed they received a 911 call in the early hours of the morning about a driver who had allegedly fallen asleep behind the wheel on Highway 74.
Haddish’s shocking arrest followed an immediate timeline of events that had affected her personally including the death of her grandmother who raised her, her close friends Bob Saget and Carl Craig, and her pet dog.
In her conversation with Fallon, she spoke about the loss of Saget and her grandma.
“[Saget] was like a big mentor to me, a big brother, a father figure. He meant a lot to me," Haddish said. "Funny man. He was the first white man to ever tell me, ‘Just be yourself, just be who you are, Tiffany. Don't worry about nothing. Just be you.’ That was huge for me.”
“And then, my grandma passed away, and she saved my life,” the comedian continued. “That's my heart. She was like my soulmate. So that's been... really hard to process, all this... Grief.”
Elsewhere in her chat on The Tonight Show, the Hollywood star also spoke about her break up with Common in Nov. 2021.
“I can say this, Jimmy... I've been praying to God to send me a new man. A good man. And God went ahead and sent me four... in uniform,” she said.
According to Daily Mail, Haddish is currently in Georgia filming the Disney movie Haunted Mansion, which also stars Owen Wilson and Rosario Dawson.
