Kendrick Lamar Trolls Drake’s ‘Drop, Drop’ Adlib During Grand National Tour Opener

The rap beef might’ve cooled off, but Kendrick brought the heat back with a sly reference to Drake’s ‘Family Matters’ diss track.

Kendrick Lamar isn’t done yet.

During the opening night of his Grand National Tour with SZA, the Pulitzer Prize-winning emcee seemingly took another swipe at Drake

While performing at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, the West Coast legend rolled out a skit on the jumbotron that appeared to poke fun at Drake’s now-infamous “drop, drop” adlib from his “Family Matters” diss.

In the clip making its rounds on the internet, Kendrick sits calmly in a chair while a voice off-screen, playing the role of an “attorney,” prompts him: “Sunday, Feb 9.” The rapper shrugs, replying, “I don’t keep up with the dates.”

The “attorney” presses further, “Ok, does this ring a bell? Drop. Drop. Drop. Drop….” Cue the screen fading to black and the haunting whisper of “Psst, I see dead people” — the opening line from the year’s biggest diss records, “Not Like Us.” The crowd erupted.

While the back-and-forth between the rap titans has cooled in recent weeks, K Dot’s latest move made it clear that the tension hasn’t fully evaporated. Along with the skit, he performed “Euphoria,” another standout in the musical exchange between the two icons.

Whether or not Drake decides to respond again, the “Luther” emcee’s opening night made it clear that while the battle may have paused, it’s far from forgotten.
