Prayers Up: Quincy Jones Rushed To Hospital After ‘Medical Emergency’

The legendary music producer reportedly had a bad reaction to something he ate.

Music producer Quincy Jones reportedly called paramedics to his L.A. home after suffering a bad reaction to something he ate.

A rep told TMZ that Jones himself called 911 "out of an abundance of caution."

According to the report, Paramedics transported Jones to an emergency room to be checked out and he was later released. His reps noted that he is in "great spirits."

The 90-year-old icon is a 28-time Grammy winner. With a career spanning several decades, multi-hyphenate powerhouse Quincy Jones has profoundly shaped the landscape of American music through his work with scores of beloved artists.

According to his bio, Jones' career has traversed virtually every medium, including records, live performance, movies, and television. During five decades in the entertainment industry, Jones has earned a record 79 Grammy Award nominations, 28 Grammys, including a Grammy Legend Award in 1991. In 2008, he received an NEA Jazz Masters award.

He is best known as the producer of Michael Jackson's Thriller album, which has sold over 110 million copies worldwide, and as the producer and conductor of the charity song "We Are the World."

He was also 2010 recipient of the 2010 National Medal of Arts.

In 1994 at the 67th Academy Awards, Jones accepted the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award presented to him by Oprah Winfrey. In his speech, he encouraged people to support the National Endowment of the Arts, saying, "Each act of creation can be another powerful pillar beneath this life of this wonderful and troubled nation of ours. Who knows, the next artist we support may one day stand before you as I do now -- humble, proud, cool, and so thankful."
