Teddy Riley Supports Donald Trump After Former Pres. Pardoned Brother Doing Double Life Sentence
Teddy Riley claims he has good reason to support former president Donald Trump as he launches his 2024 presidential campaign into full swing, despite facing a historic federal indictment.
The 55-year-old caused a stir on social media over the weekend when he left several strong-arm emoji in the comment section of an Instagram post from Trump claiming his innocence amid his 37-count indictment. The storm of criticisms echoing shock and dismay eventually prompted a response from the New Jack Swing pioneer.
According to The Shaderoom, Trump once came to the aid of Riley’s older brother Lou Hobbs, who served a double life sentence in prison for his role in a drug movement between New York and Washington DC. Hobbs, who was close friends with Mike Tyson, received clemency after serving 24 years.
Riley told the outlet the politicians taught him “how to be a free man of this country.” The “My Fantasy” singer also believes that Trump “can do something amazing for us because he did it for Africa while he was in office.”
The industry veteran acknowledged that everyone had their own beliefs and that this is what he felt to be true. Riley joined a unique group of notable Black figures who have shown public support for the controversial politician, including Ray J, Kanye West, Kodak Black, and Lil Wayne, the latter two of whom were granted pardons in 2021 just before the conclusion of the Trump administration.
