‘The Book of Clarence’ Releases Trailer and First Images for Film Starring Lakeith Stanfield
The first images and trailer have finally arrived from director Jeymes Samuel’s upcoming movie, “The Book of Clarence,” starring Lakeith Stanfield.
The new biblical epic follows a down-on-his-luck Jerusalemite named Clarence, played by Stanfield. Clarence attempts to capitalize on the rise and influence of Jesus Christ for his own personal gain. According to its summary, “The journey leads him on an exploration of faith and an unexpected path.”
Stills from the forthcoming project were released by Vanity Fair and feature several cast members against the backdrop of 33 AD, including Stanfield and RJ Cyler. The pair worked with Samuel on Netflix’s all-Black western “The Harder They Fall.” Other shots featured Alfre Woodard and Omar Sy sporting attire from the era.
Production on the movie began last November. It stars several notable actors, including Benedict Cumberbatch, James McAvoy, David Oyelowo, Anna Diop, Caleb McLaughlin, and many more. The film is set to be released on January 12, 2024.
