Get It, Girls! Andra Day, Beverly Bond and Angela Bassett Will Light Up the Gracie Awards

The annual gala celebrates female-driven entertainment.

This year's upcoming Gracie Awards, which celebrates female success in the entertainment industry, will be especially lit thanks to some of our favorite stars, including Angela BassettBeverly Bond and Andra Day.

The ceremony will take place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on May 24 and will feature a performance by Day, who will sing her hit "Rise Up."

Day gained national fame after her debut album Cheers to the Fall, which earned her two Grammy Award nominations, a NAACP Image Award nomination and a multi-week spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

“When I think about a female music artists whose music embodies empowerment, perseverance and strength, Andra Day comes to mind,” said executive producer Vicangelo Bulluck. “She is a catalyst for change and uses her talent in songwriting to inspire and encourage young women around the world. It’s fitting and an honor to have her perform at the Gracie Awards Gala.”

Angela Bassett will join the ceremony, adding another event to an already exciting year for the actress, and will be honored for her directorial work on National Geographic's series Breakthrough, which featured scientists from around the world and their cutting-edge innovations and advancements. Beverly Bond will accept a variety award based on BET's own Black Girls Rock!

They will be joined by other boss females who are being honored for their contribution to media and entertainment, including Mindy KalingYara Shahidi and Natalie MoralesWonder Woman actress Lynda Carter is set to receive the lifetime achievement award.
