President Obama Loves J. Cole
President Obama has been known to cosign rappers from time to time. Perhaps most notable was his fanhood for Kendrick Lamar that got the Compton rapper all the way to the White House for a visit late last year.
Well now, Barack has another new favorite emcee and he’s from the opposite side of the country. While delivering the keynote speech at SXSW in Austin, Texas, he named J. Cole as one of his favorites and had high praise for him.
“I love J. Cole,” Obama told the crowd. “You know, this is the benefit of having teenage daughters: I actually keep up. I got a chance to see J. Cole’s mom and grandma.”
The President’s recent cosign comes after his involvement in a lot of hip hop-related occurrences. He reportedly made Kanye West promise him that he would produce beats on Nas’ next album. He also revealed that K Dot’s “How Much A Dollar Cost” was his favorite song of 2015.
