  • LeBron James Bronny make on-court history

    On October 6, LeBron James and his son Bronny James Jr. shared the court for the first time, giving fans a preview of what could be a historic era in the NBA moment when the season kicks off later this month. 

    During a preseason game, the two played together for the Los Angeles Lakers in their 118-114 loss to the Phoenix Suns. Still, this marked a milestone as they became the first father-son duo to compete in an NBA game, coinciding with Bronny’s 20th birthday.

  • Cam Newton joins ESPN’s ‘First Take’

    Former NFL quarterback Cam Newton joins ESPN's First Take as a series regular. The former MVP will debut on Friday, October 11, during a live taping at Tennessee State University, which coincides with the school's homecoming weekend and the series’s HBCU roadshow. 

    The 35-year-old expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating, “I’ve always brought passion and energy into everything I do, and that won’t change at ESPN.” He added that fans can expect him to bring the same intensity from his football career, along with “real talk, bold takes, and good fun.”

  • Spike Lee honored as longtime New York Knicks superfan

    Dedicated New York Knicks fan Spike Lee was recently inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, recognizing his battled-tested support of the sport.

    The iconic filmmaker joins fellow superfans Billy Crystal, Jack Nicholson, and Alan Horwitz in the Jimmy Goldstein SuperFan Gallery. This unique gallery, established in 2021 and named after longtime NBA fan James F. Goldstein, honors the league's most loyal and devoted supporters.

    Isaiah Rashad recently shared a promising update about his upcoming album, which seems to be nearing completion. 

    In a message posted by NFR Podcast on X, the TDE emcee expressed his pride in the production and lyrics of his fourth LP, saying, “S—t crazy... Really proud of the production. Really proud of the words this round.”

    This isn’t the first hint the “Free Lunch” rapper has given about the album. During his Cilvia Demo 10th anniversary tour in May, he mentioned working on the project and hinted at a potential release later this year.

  • Scarface Gives Positive Update After Undergoing Open-Heart Surgery

    After undergoing open-heart surgery, Scarface shared an uplifting update with his fans, expressing gratitude for his recovery. The legendary rapper recently appeared at the 2025 Grandmaster Awards in Las Vegas, looking sharp in a tuxedo as he received an honor alongside hip-hop icons like Grandmaster Caz, Kool Moe Dee, and Roxanne Shanté.

    Reflecting on his journey, Scarface said, “Six weeks ago, I underwent open-heart surgery. To be upright and smiling today shows you that God ain’t nothing to play with. I’m grateful; it could’ve gone either way, yet I’m still alive.”

  • A$AP Rocky among others named Met Gala 2025 co-chair

    The Metropolitan Museum of Art has announced that the theme of the 2025 Met Gala will be "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style." Inspired by Monica L. Miller's 2009 book Slaves to Fashion, the event will showcase garments, paintings, and photographs of Black men's fashion and dandyism from the 18th century to today. 

    This marks the first menswear-focused gala since 2003 and the first with a guest curator since Andrew Bolton became Curator in Charge. 

    Anna Wintour will be joined by Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, and Lewis Hamilton as co-chairs, with LeBron James attending as an honorary co-chair. The gala will take place on May 5, 2025.
