Report: New Jersey Rapper E-9 Gunned Down at Barbershop
Up-and-coming rhymer E-9, born Eric Andrews Jr., was killed at a New Jersey barbershop Sunday (Dec. 29), following a verbal dispute.
According to AllHipHop.com, Andrews was arguing with two brothers inside the Nu Trendz Hair Studio at around 5:53 p.m. when one of the two pulled out a gun and ordered his sibling to kill the aspiring rapper.
It is unclear what caused the verbal dispute, but sources say the brother followed command and shot Andrews, who was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Trauma Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police confirmed Andrews' passing at the top of the week. They have not substantiated claims that the argument led to his death and, as of Tuesday (Dec. 31), authorities had yet to apprehend a shooting suspect.
Andrews was scheduled to perform at S.O.B.'s in New York City Tuesday. The 28-year-old was a member of a rap duo with longtime friend George Opuku (aka 6FO) and has worked with the likes of Jahlil Beats and Waka Flocka Flame in the past. Sadly, Andrews died on the same day as Waka's younger brother, KayO Redd, who reportedly committed suicide.
