Maria Shriver Speaks on Schwarzenegger’s Love Child
News broke over night that Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a child with a woman who worked for his family for 20 years. His estranged wife, Maria Shriver, has spoken publicy on the matter (surprisingly, the words “I want him dead” were not included in her statement).
Shriver, who once defended her husband on a groping allegation, said:
"This is a painful and heartbreaking time. As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment."
The couple announced that they were separating last week, but no one was ready for the bomb that the Los Angeles Times dropped. The “Governator” confirmed having a child ten years ago with a woman who stopped working for his family in January of this year.
"After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago," said Schwarzenegger in the statement. “I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.”
The child's mother, whose name and job title have not been revealed, first told the paper that her ex-husband was the child’s father. Schwarzenegger and Shriver have four kids together between the ages of 13 and 21.
