Georgia Prosecutor Fani Willis Received Racist Threats As Trump Indictment Approached

The Fulton County DA is expected to announce the indictment of Trump for interfering in Georgia’s election by September 1.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis received several racist threats as Donald Trump’s impending indictment on allegations of interfering in the 2020 election drew near, culminating in an indictment.

According to CBS News, Willis was the target of the threat in an email with a subject line reading, "Fani Willis = Corrupt N*****.” The rest of the email read, "You are going to fail, you Jim Crow Democrat whore." She immediately forwarded the vile threats to the officer of the Fulton County commissioners.

The emails,  which were first reported by The Atlanta-Journal Constitution, are “pretty typical” since she’s been overseeing the two-and-a-half year investigation Willis said.  Additionally, "equally ignorant voicemails" have come into her personal office and the county office.

Although she is under constant threat, Willis remains committed to serving justice on behalf of the American people.

"I took an oath. No one other than the citizens of Fulton County put me in this seat,” Willis said. “I have every intention of doing my job. Please make decisions that keep your staff safe.”

In response to the racist threats, the Fulton County solicitor general described the emails as "reprehensible" and noted that his team is currently making the appropriate changes to "align us with other law enforcement partners within the county."

Trump Indicted on Charges Related to 2020 Election Probe

Last weekend, Willis reiterated that her office is “ready to go“ forward with the results of the probe of Trump and his follower's attempts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia by Sept. 1.

“Some people may not be happy with the decisions that I’m making,” Willis continued. “And sometimes, when people are unhappy, they act in a way that could create harm.”

A federal grand jury indicted Trump for his alleged attempts to overthrow the 2020 election on Tuesday (Aug. 1). According to the indictment,  Trump is facing charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States; conspiring to obstruct the Jan. 6, 2021 certification proceeding for the 2020 election; obstructing that proceeding and; conspiring against the right to vote as defined in the U.S. Code.

“The purpose of the conspiracy was to overturn the legitimate results of the 2020 presidential election by using knowingly false claims of election fraud to obstruct the federal government function by which those results are collected, counted, and certified,” the indictment read.
