Dwyane Wade Reveals He’s Considering Starting a Nail Care Line
Dwyane Wade has teased a potential nail care line.
During a recent interview with Jerica Duncan on CBS Mornings, the Hall of Famer had a “pop of color” on his nails. When asked what the impetus was, Wade replied, “Expression… I’m creative, I’m expressive. And, there’s so many ways to do that.”
The former point guard continued, “[I’m] actually thinking about jumping into the nail line… world… Yeah, I’ve been thinking about it. Like I’ve been in it so long. And I’m like, You know what, it could be a good time, but I got some cool ideas and I’m exploring. I’ve been having some conversations on my own about exploring.”
Wade revealed that one of his inspirations for the venture is his 6-year-old daughter, Kaavia, and his time with her. “One of my favorite things to do when it comes to this is actually sitting down with my daughter and getting my nails painted and paint hers. That’s the time that we get to connect. Me doing something that she loves and also that I love,” he added.
Wade previously received a lot of backlash for having his nails painted. In an episode of “The Wine Down” podcast published in April, he admitted that Michael Jordan’s clear nail polish inspired him. “I saw MJ’s nails and MJ had clear polish on his nails,” Wade said. “At first, I thought I was like I can’t get no polish on my nails I just got to do but because I come from a community where if you do anything outside of the masculine Norm you’re a gay right and so I was trying to like stay away from certain things because people would say about me right this when I cared and then I went with the clear for a while.”
