Maya Rudolph Says Beyoncé Co-Signed Her Hilarious Impersonation
Maya Rudolph is reflecting on when she got a stamp of approval from Queen B.
The admission came while the comedian appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on May 31 (Friday) when the late-night host asked if Beyoncé knew her impression of her. That's when Rudolph took a page down memory lane to recall the exciting yet "embarrassing" encounter with the chart-topping star
"She knows about my impression," said the "SNL" alum of skits she's performed of the star on "Hot Ones" and the NBC late-night parody series.
"There's been so many times when she was there at the show," she said while adding writer Fred Armisen wrote a skit for her to perform of the artist.
"Then at "good nights," you have to stand next to the person you just did an impression of, but she was very sweet about it," Rudolph continued.
"All I said was, 'I'm so sorry' because it's so embarrassing."'
"She knows my impression is filled with love and how much I love her, but it's still embarrassing to do anything in front of the person."
So how did Beyoncé react?
"Nah, it was good," Rudolph recalled saying as she personified the singer. "She was so sweet!"
