Fashion Designer Waraire Boswell Passes Away at 48
Beloved fashion designer Waraire Boswell has passed away. Although his cause of death wasn’t confirmed, the announcement on his Instagram page revealed that he was suffering from a “private battle.”
“After a private battle, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of fashion designer, Waraire Boswell,” the statement began. “Waraire was an enthusiastic father, a devoted husband, and a loyal son, who captured the friendships of many through his infectious personality and creative talents. Affectionately known as Boz, he is survived by his wife, Monica Boswell, and their two children, Miles and Mason, his mother, Ann Boswell, and his sister, Kasmin Boswell.”
The statement continued, “In the midst of his battle, Waraire never allowed the circumstances to deter his design mission of creating the perfect wardrobe for clients to feel their best in their best moments. ‘Creating the perfect suit is ironically similar to life,’ Waraire would say. ‘Ironic because nothing in life is perfect, but similar because you can control how it fits you.’”
The spokesperson also added that Boswell’s family is asking for privacy as they take the time to grieve. Updates regarding the memorial service will be shared at a later date.
Boswell was known for designing custom suits for his namesake brand which he founded in 2003. Some of his clients include JAY-Z, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Colin Kaepernick for his GQ cover shoot, Will Smith, DeAndre Jordan, Kevin Love, Maverick Carter, Tristian Thompson, Anderson .Paak, and Ellen DeGeneres, just to name a few.
In 2005, he was named Mercedes Benz Classic Designer of the Year.
