'Blind Side' Star Quinton Aaron Speaks Out on Legal Battle Between Michael Oher and Tuohys
Actor Quinton Aaron, best known for his portrayal as Michael Oher in the sports drama “The Blind Side,” hopes that the former athlete can find an alternative pathway to address his legal matters concerning Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy.
In a new filing, Oher accused the white couple of tricking him into signing conservatorship documents.
In a recent interview with People, Aaron shared his thoughts on the matter. He told the outlet, "It's a sad situation because having gotten a chance to meet both the Tuohy family and Michael Oher, this is not really anything that I would wish for them.”
The 39-year-old actor called the stunning series of events “unfortunate.” He then went on to share, “My prayers go out to both parties, and I hope they could come to some kind of resolve that makes 'em whole, or just get past this without the complete destruction of their relationship.”
Last Monday (Aug 14), Oher filed a complaint in a Shelby County, Tennessee, probate court claiming that the Tuohy family had misled him into designating them as his conservators when he turned 18.
According to the filing, Oher contends that the Tuohys assured him that there was no significant distinction between being adopted and entering into a conservatorship. Oher further alleged that members of the Tuohys household also received $225,000 and 2.5% of the film’s proceeds while he was not included.
The Tuohys have since responded stating that they were willing to terminate the conservatorship.
