Drake Signs Open Letter For Ceasefire in Gaza
Drake has seemingly responded after the rapper recently found himself at the receiving end of online criticism over his perceived lack of input on the ongoing war between the Israeli government and Hamas.
The Canadian rap star’s name is among a lengthy roster of celebrities, collectively known as Artists4Ceasefire, who signed an open letter addressed to President Joe Biden and the United States Congress. The letter calls for “an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel before another life is lost.”
It continued, “We urge your administration, Congress, and all world leaders to honor all of the lives in the Holy Land and call for and facilitate a ceasefire without delay – an end to the bombing of Gaza and the safe release of hostages.”
The “Rich Flex” rapper joins longtime collaborator Noah “40” Shebib, Aminé, Kaytranada, Dominique Fishback, Miguel, Rosario Dawson, Jordan Peele, and many more.
Earlier this month, DJ Vlad called out “the most famous Jewish person on Earth” and his peers for not speaking on horrific events sooner. “And Khaled is the most famous Palestinian in the world. But neither one of them has said anything about this at all,” VLAD said during an appearance on The Breakfast Club.
“Drake is doing this whole thing where he’s literally writing paragraphs about Joe Budden because his feelings were hurt about an album review,” He added, referencing the rapper’s reaction to Joe’s criticisms over his latest album, “For All The Dogs. “So it’s not like they don’t have time. This s—t runs deep.”
