Is Kanye West Firing Back At Tidal With New Streaming Service?
In the wake of reports that Kanye West has severed ties with Jay-Z's TIDAL following financial hiccups, it appears as though the rapper has found a solution to the troubling ordeal ― spearheading his own streaming service.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, Kanye is apparently prepping to trademark “Yeezy Sound” for purposes that include “streaming of music, audio, images, video and other multimedia content over the internet.” If you can recall, Ye has been locked in a dispute with TIDAL after claiming he’s owed $3.5 million in unpaid advances and bonuses for his most recent effort The Life of Pablo.
Unfortunately, the financial dispute between the brothers in rhyme trickled down to their personal lives evenually putting a major strain on their friendship. Kanye even publicly shamed Hov for his lack of support following wife Kim Kardashian's infamous Paris robbery, to which Jay responded by alluding to his ongoing feud with Ye on 4:44.
Either way it’s unclear when exactly Yeezy is set to debut his new venture to the world, but after breaking his one-year hiatus by jumping on stage with Kid Cudi last weekend it appears as though the Chi-Town native is slated to make a return to the limelight very soon.
