Anthony Anderson Hosts 2013 Soul Train Awards
The very best in R&B and hip hop will soon be celebrated and recognized in Sin City thanks to the hippest trip in America — the 2013 Soul Train Awards. Actor Anthony Anderson will host the broadcast from the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas honoring the hottest artists in music.
Hip hop phenom Kendrick Lamar leads the pack with six nominations, including Best New Artist, Album of the Year and Song of the Year. Miguel, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Chris Brown and Tamar Braxton comprise the quintet of outstanding R&B entertainers all tied with five nominations each.
Female singers battling it out for the Chaka Khan Best R&B/Soul Female Artist award include Alicia Keys, Janelle Monáe and Kelly Rowland. And, of course, Thicke’s summer smash hit “Blurred Lines” is among the nominees for Song of the Year along with Rihanna’s “Diamonds” and Braxton’s “Love and War.”
Tune in to find out which artists will be going home with love, peace and soul gold. The Soul Train Awards airs December 1 at 9pm ET/PT on Centric and BET.
