Brittney Griner's Ex Gave Birth to Twin Daughters
Glory Johnson gave birth to twin girls last week, a little bit ahead of schedule. The WNBA star revealed the news on Instagram on Sunday, sharing that the girls were born premature.
"Babies Ava Simone & Solei Diem arrived on Monday!" Johnson, 25, wrote, along with a picture of two sets of fingers and toes. "Born a little earlier than expected, I have No Worries because these babies are fighters just like I am! We all know God makes NO mistakes and by his Grace, everything will work out for the greater good. We will continue to trust God as they are in his hands. Continue to keep us Lifted because there is Sooo Much Power In PRAYER!!!"
Johnson revealed that she was pregnant in June, just days before her former partner Brittney Griner announced she was seeking an annulment to their marriage of 28 days. Johnson maintained that they had been planning a family. "Its not a surprise for me because this is what we planned for with the IVF Cycle, though hearing their hearts beat ... was the most ASTONISHING thing I have ever heard in my ENTIRE LIFE," she shared at the time.
Griner told ESPN that she had doubts about tying the knot before they walked down the aisle, particularly since the two had been involved in a domestic dispute just weeks prior, but felt pressure to move forward. "I went along with it and I knew I shouldn't have and it was a huge mistake."
Johnson filed a court petition in July seeking $20,000 a month in spousal support from Griner. A judge later declined the request. It's not clear whether Griner will be required to pay child support for the twin girls.
