Boston Celtics Head Coach Ime Udoka Faces Suspension After Alleged Indiscretion With Female Employee
Ime Udoka’s alleged philandering ways have put him at risk of sitting out the entire 2022-2023 season as the head coach for the Boston Celtics.
According to ESPN, an anonymous source spilled the salacious tea to the sports network, divulging that Udoka reportedly had an inappropriate relationship with a female employee for the Celts. News of the alleged indiscretion had the internet abuzz on September 22.
Although a formal announcement will come later, Udoka and the employee’s alleged tryst is a violation of the team’s policy and procedures. ESPN noted that the suspension would be an unprecedented punishment for Udoka as a head coach has never been ousted for a season.
Joe Mazzulla, Boston’s assistant coach, would likely become the team’s interim coach for the season.
Udoka became head coach of the Celtics last year after successfully coaching three other NBA teams.
Udoka has not addressed the allegations.
