The Internet Is Scorching Madonna Over This 'Make America Great Again' Photo With Her Adopted Black Daughters
Pop singer Madonna swerved over to the internet’s bad side for the second time this summer on Sunday (August 5) and with a photo of her 4-year-old adopted daughters, Esterre and Stella, aboard a boat.
The photo shows the young girls embraced in a hug and cheesing big, adorable smiles while steering the sailboat together. The lens caught an American flag flapping in the wind behind them, accompanied by what the internet has deemed quite the tone-deaf caption on the picture.
“Make America Great Again!” it reads.
Madonna’s spin on Donald Trump’s divisive presidential slogan, which has largely been symbolized as a representation of white supremacy, rubbed a lot of folks the wrong way. The likelier chance is that Madonna shared the girls’ picture as a visual definition of what making the country great again actually looks like instead of using the four-words as a thumbs up to the White House squatter. But fans are poking a thumbs-down on the caption.
See how they're dragging her into the internet's deep end over the Trump reference below:
