Nicki Minaj Parts Ways With Diddy, Hires New Management
Nicki Minaj is under new management, again. According to XXLmag.com, the Young Money rapper has signed on with Hip Hop Since 1978, leaving Diddy’s management team, who had been handling her career since the release of her debut album, Pink Friday.
A source tells XXL that when Nicki originally signed on, she thought Diddy would be more hands-on with her career, and was disappointed to learn that he was not. Over the past few months, Nicki had been working more with James Cruz, one of Diddy’s management partners and a former member of Violator management team. Minaj hired Diddy as her manager after parting ways with her former manager Debra Antney (Waka Flocka Flame, Gucci Mane).
In the meantime, Nicki has hired Hip Hop Since 1978, led by Gee Roberson and Kyambo “Hip Hop” Joshua, the management firm that guides the careers of Drake, Lil Wayne and Kanye West.
