Russell Neal, member of the popular '90s R&B group Hi-Five, is under police custody in Houston following the death of his wife, TMZ reports. Neal told police his wife was dead inside their apartment following a heated argument on Wednesday, but didn't provide any further details on the advice of his lawyer.
No charges have currently been filed against the "She's Playing Hard to Get" singer, though he is being detained by police. The lawyer for Hi-Five, Chris Brown, says, "We are aware of the situation and are presently evaluating it."

Hi-Five's popularity peaked in the early 1990s with such hits as "I Like the Way (The Kissing Game)" and "I Can't Wait Another Minute." The group released their last moderately-successful album, Faithful, in 1993, and then came out with a reunion album, The Return, over a decade later in 2005.
Neal's band mate Tony Thompson died tragically in 2007 after inhaling too much freon. The rest of the group has been out of the public eye ever since.
