Toni Braxton Reacts To Sister Traci’s Death
Toni Braxton is reacting to the tragic death of her sister Traci, which was announced earlier on Saturday (March 12).
Taking to her Instagram account, the famed singer provided a beautiful description of her younger sister and all that she meant to their family.
"Needless to say, she was a bright light, a wonderful daughter, an amazing sister, a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and a respected performer. We will miss her dearly," captioned Toni, who shared a picture of all five Braxton sisters.
She added, in part: "Traci passed this morning as the snow was falling. Our angel is now a snowflake. We ask that you respect our privacy as we plan to send her home with love, celebrating her life. We are family forever."
Traci's husband, Kevin Surratt, broke the news of her passing to TMZ, saying: "We have come to a time where we must inform the public that after a year of privately undergoing a series of treatment for Esophageal cancer our beloved Traci Braxton has gone on to glory."
Traci appeared on the family's reality show Braxton Family Values and is best known as an actress for her role on Sinners Wanted. She also appeared in There's a Stranger in My House.
Traci is also a sister to Tamar, Towanda, and Trina Braxton, along with Toni and their only brother Michael. Just two years ago, her niece, Lauren Braxton, died from a heroin and fentanyl overdose back in 2019 at 24 years old.
Aside from Surratt, Traci is survived by their only child, 26-year old Kevin Surratt Jr.
