Metro Boomin Seemingly Denies Andre 3000 Played His Flute On Future’s ‘Mask Off’

Apparently, it was all just a joke.

Metro Boomin recently joked that Andre 3000 was playing the flute instrumental on Future’s smash hit “Mask Off,” but now he’s seemingly confirming that the comment was made in jest.

The comments made by the superproducer happened while he was DJing at Future’s 40th birthday brunch in Los Angeles over the weekend.

“Y’all ain’t even know, Andre 3000 played the flute on this m********a,” he told attendees of the event.

Complex saw the comments and made a post about it with the headline: “Metro Boomin Says Andre 3000 Played Flute On ‘Mask Off.'” This caused Boomin’ to respond in the comments, writing: “How are you all even considered a real news outlet?”

Metro Boomin’s joke occurred just after Andre 3000 released his debut solo album, New Blue Sun, which entirely features the OutKast rapper playing the flute.
