Black Woman Says She Could Not Secure An Interview With Delta Airlines Until She Pretended To Be White

Regina De’Chabert posted her story on TikTok.

TikToker user Regina De’Chabert (@ginaaa_banks_) said she applied to be a flight attendant at  Delta Airlines several times in a period of five years. However, she says she could not even get an interview until she pretended to be a white woman.

In the viral TikTok video, the captions read she had been "applying to delta for a flight attendant job for 5 years" and was denied. After listing on her application that she was white,  De’Chaber claims she "finally received a 2nd interview email."

After getting some pushback from people saying they were Black and successfully interviewed and hired at Delta, De'Chabert responded in a follow up video: "What I will say is that I am so happy for the other Black women in this field who have gotten call backs, jobs, etc…. Just because you got the job, doesn't negate my experience. Just because you got the job doesn't mean my experiences with this airline, and with JetBlue, and other airlines in New York is invalid.”

Delta Airlines has not responded to the allegation.
