Steve Lacy Earns His First No.1 Billboard Record With His Single ‘Bad Habits’
Steve Lacy is already having a great week as his record “Bad Habit” climbs to number one after spending four weeks at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.
The record serves as the second single from his second studio album Gemini Rights, which reached the top ten on the Billboard 200 charts and topped the Top Rock Albums chart.
Social media went up for the musician, giving the superstar his flowers.
Lacey rose to prominence as the guitarist in the band The Internet and has worked with artists like Tyler, The Creator, Frank Ocean, Chloe x Halle, Kendrick Lamar, and Solange Knowles and is a two-time Grammy-Award nominee, both for the Best Urban Contemporary Album category for Ego Death and Apollo XXI.
The artist solely produced and co-wrote the record, which garnered 40.3 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 8%), 20.4 million streams (up 4%), and 2,000 downloads sold (up 4%) in the Sept. 23-29 tracking week, according to Luminate.
