Ava DuVernay's Middle of Nowhere Coming to DVD/VOD
With a Golden Globe nomination under her belt and an Oscar nod likely on the way, there's a lot of interest in Selma director Ava DuVernay right now. Now, Lionsgate and Codeblack Films are giving audiences a chance to see the film maker's acclaimed 2012 film Middle of Nowhere by releasing it on DVD and VOD.
Middle of Nowhere stars Emayatzy Corinealdi as a medical student struggling to maintain hope while her husband (Omari Hardwick) is in prison. The film also stars David Oyelowo (who plays Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma) as a bus driver who befriends Corinealdi.
The film, which earned DuVernay a Best Director prize at the Sundance Film Festival, arrives on DVD and VOD on January 13. Check out BET.com's review of the film here.
