Jadakiss Talks New Album, Potential LOX Return

Kiss says fans should expect more new material soon.

Having just released his first commercially available street album, I Love You, via Def Jam, Jadakiss stopped by New York’s Power 105.1 radio station to talk with the cast of “The Breakfast Club” morning show. Kiss discussed the project, being inspired by Twitter, reconciling with Diddy and a wide range of other topics.
"I got a lot of female [Twitter] followers and I just wanted to do something for the fans, the males as well as the females," Kiss said of I Love You.
Comparing the project to his last mixtape, Jada said the new project is meant to be more accessible.
"It's a different type of vibe than The Champ is Here, it's not that hard, it ain't that edgy."
Asked why he doesn't put out albums more frequently, Jadakiss said falling back from time to time helps keep him in demand.
"That's my specialty, to not give you too much so that you always want more," he said.
Though Diddy has expressed interest in bringing Jada's old group The LOX back to Bad Boy following their infamous split from the label in the late '90s, Jada said negotiations for any possible reunion are still ongoing.
"Diddy calls me a few times a month, our relationship is tight," Kiss said. "I think that whole thing [with the first LOX contract] made us get a new-found respect for one another."
Jadakiss said that he and the other members of the LOX, Sheek Louch and Styles P, are currently shopping a new album to anyone with "the best financials."
As for his next full-length solo project, Top 5 Dead or Alive, the Yonkers rapper said he's still early in the recording process but that he plans to drop the album in September or October. Until then, fans should enjoy I Love You, which Jadakiss assures is appropriate for all sorts of seasonal occasions.
"Drivin' home from college; graduation parties; in the limo on the way to prom... it's one of them type of CDs," Kiss said.
