Dwyane Wade Sells TV Comedy Based on His Best-Selling Book
Dwyane Wade is an all-star on the court, and he's about to become a power player in Hollywood, too. The Miami Heat star has just inked a deal with Fox television to adapt his best-selling novel, A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger Than Basketball, into a comedy series.
The upcoming series, which will be called Three the Hard Way, will tell the story of an NBA superstar named Daryl Wade and his eccentric entourage, who find themselves parenting by committee when the lead gets full custody of his two young sons. The premise is based, of course, on Wade's own experience of being a single dad after he filed for divorce from wife Siohvaughn Funches.
Unfortunately, Wade's custody battle with Funches rages on, even as the NBA player has moved on to a long-term relationship with Gabrielle Union.
