The Internet Had Some Of The Best Reactions To The 2020 Super Bowl Gospel Celebration
Spirits were lifted at the 2020 Super Bowl Gospel celebration of life where the gospel and football community were of one accord in the salutation and exaltation of our Most High.
Although the night was brief amid preparations for the Super Bowl LIV championship game set to take place on Sunday (Feb. 2), that didn’t stop gospel’s most celebrated vocalists from showing up and showing out in the name of our Lord.
The night was kicked off by the venerable Donnie McClurkin, who was joined onstage by Melvin Chrispel and the NFL Players Choir as they hyped the crowd with their resolutary “Victory Chant." Chrispel then took on the stage solo and performed “For The Rest Of My Life (I’ll Serve Him).” The rousing performance was followed-up by Anthony Brown and Group Therapy where they ushered in a promising energy for the new year with “Blessing on Blessings.” The Lady of Soul, Yolanda Adams, took over next where she delivered a soul-sending performance alongside Le’Andria Johson of her gospel classic, “The Battle Is Not Yours” before gospel supergroup Commissioned closed out the celebration with a medley of their greatest hits. The night also came with a touching tribute from Georgia-raised gospel singer Travis Greene, who dedicated his stage to the late Kobe Bryant.
The 21st annual Super Bowl Gospel celebration delivered many must-see moments that brought joy and jubilation to the hearts of those who tuned in. We found some of the best reactions from those celebrating the gospel with us from right in front of their television screens:
