Cam’Ron Reveals The Real Culprit Behind His Breakup With Juju
It’s official: Cam’Ron and Juju are no longer a power couple. The two called their relationship quits in late Nov. 2017, and now Killa Cam is getting real about what really caused them to part ways. The Dipset artist stopped by The Breakfast Club on Nov. 30, where he dished about how outside factors, particularly social media, ruined his once happy union.
According to the hip-hop vet, Instagram played a huge part in the break-up. While the decision to split was mutual, Cam suggested Juju became jealous about his interactions with other women online. “It was kind of mutual. For me, it just wasn’t fun anymore,” he explained. When Instagram came out, it was fun in the beginning and then it became serious, [Juju would say] ‘Why you following her?’ Or, ‘You like that person picture,’ or ‘People are saying this.’ And I’m like, ‘Yo, you gotta be my best friend for because that’s what I’m in it for.’ … It just stopped being fun and I think she felt that way too.”
Cam also suggested that he also became too serious on the social platform, using the app as a marketing tool to promote his lady. “Once Instagram came out, I’m the one who was promoting her and marketing her, showing her body and showing people how beautiful she is, like ‘Look, I got a beautiful woman,’ without being too untasteful about it to me,” he continued. “Basically it just stopped being fun.”
Juju and Cam’Ron met in 2002, and quickly became friends. After building a friendship first, their love for one another eventually transformed into a relationship. “She was my friend before we even started being serious,” he added. “That was my homegirl and everything was fun.” Although the two aren’t an item anymore, let’s hope they can at least be there for each other as friends.
