Tabria Majors Dishes On How She's Transforming Plus-Size Swimwear With Bold Patterns And Sexy Silhouettes!

Plus, the hottest body-positive moments at Paraiso Miami Beach Swim Week.

Paraiso Miami Beach Swim Week is back for the summer 2023 season, and although brands haven't always been inclusive regarding body types, quite a few have showcased some sexy and trendy styles this year.

To help with that is model Tabria Majors. In a short, seven-year span, the Nashville native has worked on campaigns with brands such as Savage X Fenty, Skims, Boohoo, and Fashion Nova. This year, Majors designed a collection in partnership with Cupshe, which debuted on the runway. The collection marks the brand's first-ever plus-size collaboration and includes an assortment of styles that harken back to the neon-filled beach hangouts of the '80s and '90s.

"My swim collection with Cupshe is inspired by LA living and my personal style. I wanted to incorporate bright colors, bold patterns, and stylish silhouettes. Typically, swimwear for extends sizes tends to lean to more conservative patterns and styles, but I strive to prove more contemporary pieces for those who want something different," says Majors.

Majors is not only a model but a body-positive advocate. For her, it seems like the right thing to do.

"I feel like at the time when I was modeling, [being body-positive] just came with being a plus-size model," she notes. "I feel like you couldn't be a plus-size persona and not be an advocate for body positivity. It wouldn't make any sense not to do that. I definitely embraced it and still do. I feel like it got co-opted by a lot of other people, so it's not what it is today. I'm still here for it, though."
