Beyoncé's Made In America Outfits Are The Final Level Of Her Snapback Domination
As the country collectively recalibrates following the long weekend, it's only right that we celebrate the muse that Monday's national holiday commemorated: Beyoncé. Nay, this year's end-of-summer federal holiday, Labor Day, was not celebrating our country's workers, but the labor that Ms. Tina Knowles Lawson went into sometime in the wee hours of September 4, 1981. We're half-kidding, but with this administration's clear objective of harming POCs and other marginalized communities at every possible turn, including today's cruel DACA reversal, we have all the more reason to rejoice in our Black idols as often as possible.
The B'Day singer spent the weekend in Philadelphia, where she attended the Made In America festival, an annual concert that was founded by her hubby, Jay Z. Though Bey didn't perform on her #BeyDay, she was present for other artists' sets, including her sister Solange's performance. The Queen Bey's presence at MIA marks her most public outing since giving birth to twins Rumi and Sir Carter in June.
Bey has been showing off her killer snapback with every post-twins apperance, and she followed suit this past weekend. (Hey, if you've got it, flaunt it!) And obviously, since this is Beyoncé we're talking about, every look was very "music festival — but make it fashion."
On Saturday, Bey wore a 'fit comprised of numerous Gucci products. This outfit is so much look that it's inspired us to craft a new term encapsulating such a statement: the cloutfit. We shall henceforth refer to future all-Gucci-everything outfits as such.
What you see here folks is not merely a display of style, but a veritable flex. Bey's coat, that which caused outcry regarding (yet another) theft of POC creativity, is not even for sale yet, given that it's from the Resort 2018 collection. When you're one of Alessandro Michele's favorite walking billboards, however, special accommodations abound!
In addition to the balloon-sleeved, fiercely debated jacket, Bey wore a $320 monogram hat and $850 Gucci pumps. Her look was logo-heavy, but we're not mad at it! This is how the cloutfit is done, people.
Beyoncé again relied on denim for her second day of #festbest style, as chill girls so often do. Bey's outfit gave a nod to her hometown, Houston, which is currently struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. (Bey herself has helped mobilize recovery efforts in her beloved H-Town with her BEYGood Foundation.) To contrast her red Rockets jersey, Bey topped off her outfit with a yellow Feng Chen Wang coat, $1,200 Off-White purse and $1,400 r13denim boots.
God bless her for cavorting around the festival grounds in $1,500, extremely high, reimagined Dr. Martens. No matter the occasion, she slays!
