Sharing This Meme Is Getting Big Boi In All Sorts Of Trouble On Twitter
Hey, Big Boi, your misogyny is showing.
The Atlanta rapper is experiencing some backlash on Twitter - so much so that it’s a trending topic - after sharing a meme comparing mothers in the 1970s to mothers today in 2016.
The image is split down the middle, with the photo on the left depicting Esther Rolle’s character from Good Times, with the photo on the right showing a young woman donning a bra top and thong in front of a young child.
Essentially, the meme is presenting a case that the woman in the thong represents everything wrong with motherhood, while the conservative depiction is the correct way to go about being a mother.
“I woke up to a Big Boi meme using a fictional TV mom to explain how much better parenting was in the 70s,” Twitter user YourOldScrooge wrote. “I guess.”
Other reactions commented on the distastefulness of his decision to post the misogynistic meme in the first place, while others commented on his utter disregard for the fact that it takes two people to make a child, and therefore two people to raise a child.
